This year’s traveling promises to be brisk. People are fed up with covid restrictions and finally have an opportunity to take revenge. “The longer the pandemic, the larger the vacation bucket list and the greater the yearning to travel,” claims Shiv Singh, VP of a travel shopping company. “Globally, 81% of working adults are placing more value on vacation and 66% of them have been inspired to create a bucket list.”

Coming out of such a long period of constraints, 2022 will be the year people wring every bit of richness and meaning out of vacation experiences. As a new “no days left behind” mindset arises, several travel trends appear.

Eco-friendly trips

It’s our collective responsibility to reduce individual carbon footprints. Luckily, caring about the environment has become a recent tendency. More and more conscious travelers prefer sustainable trips. One of the ways to show love for Mother Nature is by staying close to home and enjoying staycation. Finding local adventures, such as walking in unexplored corners of your neighborhood or visiting museums in your city, is among the greenest forms of travel.

Family outing time

After a long time of being cooped up under one roof, the nearest and dearest have an occasion to explore the world outside. For that reason, multi-generational trips are getting widely popular. However, while some families experienced the strain of the same four walls, other extended families didn’t see each other at all. 2022 is a year of reconnection and the big family get-together.

Self-care travel

Wellness means different things to different people. On the whole, well-being applies to physical health and mental health, nutrition, sleep and mindfulness. Stress-exhausted travelers prefer improving their welfare during the time off. Some people decide to go on yoga retreats. Others are checking on spa resorts. Organic foods, essential oils, aromatherapy, hiking and rock climbing represent diverse ways of self-care tourism.

Above all, 2022 is predicted to be a year of vacation-deprived travelers who are hungry for new adventures. This summer is all about caring about nature, family and ourselves.
